about

studio ávila is the independent advisory and consulting practice of Anne Stake, focused on advancing human health in the age of AI.

The name is inspired by El Ávila, the mountain range overlooking Caracas, Venezuela, where Anne spent formative years as a child. That backdrop shaped her lifelong commitment to equity and justice—principles that now guide her work.

Anne brings over 15 years of experience across healthcare, technology, public policy, and design. She has led multidisciplinary teams at IDEO, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, and Bloomberg Philanthropies, and worked directly with Ministries of Health across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Most recently, as co-founder and co-president of Medtronic LABS, Anne helped build the global health arm of Medtronic from the ground up. There, she led the design and deployment of an open-source platform for integrated primary care and spearheaded the company’s AI portfolio—from core data science to frontier GenAI use cases.

At studio ávila Anne partners with CEOs, funders, and product teams to shape meaningful, human-centered AI strategies. Whether advising a startup or guiding a large health system, she works at the seams of product, policy, and strategy to help organizations navigate complexity and scale what works.

She holds degrees from Stanford University, Oxford University, and Parsons School of Design and lives between Brooklyn, New York and Geneva, Switzerland.
